Will Szoboszlai, Gakpo and Isak play in the 7th round of the EPL?
Three important Liverpool players – Szoboszlai, Gakpo and Isak may miss the next match.
Three key Liverpool players missed the last two matches of the “Reds” due to injuries sustained during the international break in September–October – they are versatile midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, winger Cody Gakpo and forward Alexander Isak.
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola told a press conference on Thursday about the chances of the players returning to the field for Saturday’s English Premier League match against Brentford, which will take place at the Gtech Community Stadium.
According to Iraola, a final decision on all three players has not yet been made, as the team still has one more training session before the next EPL round.
“It’s still early to draw conclusions – we have training again tomorrow. Clearly, they were not ready for yesterday’s match against LASK (in the Champions League). We need to wait and see how the situation develops. It’s really too early to state anything now. Previously I said that these players wouldn’t be able to take part in the previous matches, but this time I don’t rule out the possibility of their return,” Iraola said.
Thus, the participation of all three players in the upcoming game remains uncertain. Final clarity should emerge after the team’s final training session.
What does this mean for Fantasy EPL players? If Szoboszlai, Gakpo and Isak are already in your squad, it’s better to have a quality bench replacement ready for them, or even swap these players out immediately, as Iraola’s comments about their possible involvement in the match against Brentford are not confident.
